I have a Sony Vaio FX220 and the DC connector has given out. I found the part online, and a technical manual to download, but I couldn't figure out how to access the DC connector to resolder or replace it.
Would someone please give me a step-by-step guide to getting at this poxy DC connector. I've done this kinda thing before, but could use some help.
Thanks
Paul

Hi. I did a google search on "Sony Vaio FX220 disassembly" and found "about 76 for Sony Vaio FX220 disassembly". This was the first link http://www.sony-vaio...cg-grx500p.html

Many others. Do a search and check them out. One even offers complete manuals....

Some of these were helpful. Many are bogus or just want money for service manuals on CD.
http://www.myplc.com is helpful.
I found a service manual elsewhere, but I lost the link. It took ages to find a site that didn't charge for it. Even then, the disassembly information is all in a single exploded diagram, without step-by-step instructions.

Thanks, austin_o
