Have you made any changes to Msconfig yet?

How long does it take for the PC to load up all the way?

OK,that looks fine to me!

My PC upstairs is about 3 yrs old and has been cleaned and defragmented on a regular basis and it takes about 3 minutes to load up as well!

Did you notice a big slow down in Startup right after installing Kaspersky?

If so,thats perfectly normal since the AV is doing Boot and Memory Scans!

We can replace Kaspersky anytime you want and try a full time free AV that you will be able to work with from now on!

Just let me know what ya wanna do,I think the PC is about as streamlined as its going to get!

Have you ever used a Registry Cleaner on the PC?

OK,here ya go!

Downlaod the AVG Free Setup files from here
http://free.grisoft....2/lng/us/tpl/v5

Dont set it up just yet!

Uninstall Kaspersky from Add\Remove Programs and Restart the PC and Immediatly go and install AVG and Update it!

Another thing you need to truley consider is a decent firewall, since Windows Firewall isnt quite as good as it could be!

Again,the call is yours!

Once you have AVG installed and Updated, you can use this Registry Cleaner that I use on all my Computers!

RegSupreme Pro
http://majorgeeks.co..._Pro_d4256.html

Once downloaded and launched,Click Yes to Update the Cache-> Click "Registry Cleaner"-> Click "Aggresive" and "Start"-> Fix everything it finds-> Name the Backup it creates and Save it somewhere safe!

DO NOT run this more than 2 or 3 times a year!

Crap,I forgot all about that,I am so sorry,I will get some extra eyes on the Theme and Button issue!

We did get luna.msstyles copied to Luna folder, right?

C:\Windows\Resources\Themes\Luna

Here is a link to the most user friendly Free Firewall I know of

Sygate Personal Firewall:
http://smb.sygate.co...pf_standard.htm

Let me see what I can dig up on the theme and buttons!

Did you read through that link I gave you to restore the theme once luna.msstyles was replaced?

Lets do some double checking!

Make sure Luna.Theme inside the Resources and Themes folders

Make sure shellstyle.dll in all 3 folders that are inside the C:\Windows\Resources\Themes\Luna\Shell folder

Now right Click the Desktop and Select Properties

Under Themes, make sure its set to WindowsXP (Modified)

Under Appearance, make sure that Windows and Buttons is set to WindowsXP Style

Post back and let me know what you find out?
