Ok let me explain my problem.
Like a year ago I downloaded a file from www.halbuslair.com, the file was a "trade hack" for a game called diablo 2.This is what happened to my computer right after i downloaded the file.Sometimes when i start up my computer it will make a roaring noise, it restarts itself once in awhile. Also a send error report message comes up for the file, even after the file was deleted, with a skull icon. Please help me with my problem! :tazz:

*Click Here to download Killbox by Option^Explicit.
*Extract the program to your desktop and double-click on its folder, then double-click on Killbox.exe to start the program.
*In the killbox program, select the Delete on Reboot option.
*Copy the file names below to the clipboard by highlighting them and pressing Control-C:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\Microsoft\security\services.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\Microsoft\security\server.exe

*Return to Killbox, go to the File menu, and choose "Paste from Clipboard".
*Click the red-and-white "Delete File" button. Click "Yes" at the Delete on Reboot prompt. Click "No" at the Pending Operations prompt.

If your computer does not reboot by itself then, do it manually.

Post back with a new HijackThis log.

I deleted the files using killbox and have noticed a boost of speed in my computer :tazz: But when i started my computer an error message came up saying "Windows cannot find 'C:\Windows\system32\Microsoft\security\services.exe' Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. To search for a file, click the start button, and click search." Does this mean I'm still infected? Also when I go to play games it asks what program i want to open it with,is there anyway to fix this? Anyway here is my log...

It just means we are getting closer to cleaning your computer.

I think we got rid of the file, now we will work on the registry to solve the errors.

Check the following items in HijackThis.
Close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ImInstaller_IncrediMail] C:\DOCUME~1\WALTAN~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\ImInstaller\IncrediMail\incredimail_install[1].exe -startup -product IncrediMail
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [explorer] C:\WINDOWS\system32\Microsoft\security\services.exe

Then reboot and open a Command Prompt ( Start > Run > CMD > OK )

Type this command in the command prompt window

assoc .exe

Then click ENTER and let me know the response.

I deleted those files on Hijack This but that incredimail won't go away, and the command prompt when I typed assoc.exe it said ".exe=exefile" and went to the next line and said "C:\Documents and Settings\"my login name"" was it supposed to do that?

Yes that's the coorect repsonse.

Maybe the Incredimail installer is at fault.

I think they use the Windows Installer.

Download and install: http://support.micro...id=2488&sid=251

Use it to delete every reference to Incredimail.
Then fix the stubborn item in HijackThis again and reboot.

Can you see if Incredimail is listed under Add/Remove Software?
If so, see if you can remove it there.

Also download and run:
http://home01.wxs.nl...80/exefix08.com

Then reboot and let me know if that fixed the problem with the exe files.

I can't find it under Add/Remove Programs, and when I run the program you told me to download, it says "C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\EXEFIX08\EXEFIX08.PIF C:\WINDOWS\system32\autoexec.nt. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows application. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application."
