Ok...so i bought a cheapo, trashy computer for listening to mp3's and playing
old-school DOS games. Problem is that...for some reason, i can't get any sound (other than PC speaker) on these [bleep] games!!! Its not a configuration problem within the games, coz ive mucked around with all that.... and all other sound (mp3s, mpeg, windows theme sounds) work fine!

Is it a driver problem or what?

Can someone help me??? im not real great at the technical stuff to do with PC's, but it's driving me nuts!!!!!!

P.s - i know its not the right category, but i just ended up here - im new to forums, lol

Hello heavymetal mitch and welcome to Geeks To Go!

If your trying to run old DOS games you'll need to install DOS drivers for your sound card.

What are your PC specs?
What version of Windows are you running?

Hi Mitch. I read your post and you say no sound except the system speaker, the one that "beeps" during boot up. If this is so, you need to take a look at device manager. Right click on my computer, look for the device in device manager and see if it has a yellow !. If it does you need to load the driver for the audio controller.
