Stupid Computer!

I have a computer that was made by a friend, and I bought a new HP printer installed the software and was good to go for about three months with a great printer. Then I decided I wanted to use the scan feature on the printer and it told me I had to install additional software, so I popped in the disc it came with and it said that software is already installed to continue you must uninstall. So ok, sounds alright to me...what do I know. So it unistalled the whole thing and now it will not take it back on. I have spoken to HP for about 9 hours on several different phone calls, and they have tried EVERYTHING!! It makes me believe that it is my computer and not thier software. :D

Any ideas? :D

What kind of errors are you getting when trying to install the software?

Have you tried downloading the latest software from HP's website for this printer, and then try installing it?
