I am just starting to have a look into macro's. My first objective is to split the names of my contacts into 2 cells such as to create a column with only the first name and one with the surname, i.e.

Split the contact info John Doe into one cell containing John and the next one containing Doe.

I would like to write a macro for this but don't know if there is a code to split the data in a cell by recognising the free space between first and surname.

Thanks,

Frits

The best solution to this problem is to start recording a macro, do a text-to-column using a space to separte them. then stop recording the macro and go and look inside the macro code using edit. Hope this helps.
