So what is this new card? Is it the R5? I can't seem to find the specs on it... it is more powerful than a 7800?

About neck and neck with the 7800. Faster in some games, slower in others. Kind of dissapointing IMO.

The high end 7800 gtx like this will beat the X1800 XL by quite a bit of margin.
Has 490MHz Core Clock and the memory clock is alot more 1300 MHZ

Different story when the X1800 XT comes out. We will see. :)

The X1800 XL is comparable to the 7800 GT not the GTX.
