Welcome iam2trickey :D!

Try checking "Start", "All programs", "Accessories", "Enterainment", "Volume Control". Make sure "Wave" and "CD Player" sliders are set reasonably high. Check back with the results <_<!

Are you sure the speakers are connected to the correct output on your sound card?

Try removing your sound card from the device manager and then restart. The hardware wizard should find the sound card on reboot and reinstall it.

Everything sounds like it should be working. You could try a repair installation of Windows XP: http://www.geekstogo...p?showtopic=138

If that doesn't work, try another sound card. <_<

Let's try this...

Click the HijackThis Guide in my signature, download it and follow the instructions in the guide.

Most of what it lists will be harmless or even essential, DO NOT delete or modify anything yet! Someone will be along to tell you what steps to take after you post the contents of the scan results.
