Hi,

Here is what I have done so far:

(Updated SBSD,Ad-Aware, CW-S)

-Booted into SAFE MODE ---->
-Ran SBSD ---->
-Ran Ad-Aware ---->
-Ran CW Shredder ---->
-Ran A-Squared ---->
-Rebooted Normal ---->
-Ran Panda Scan ---->
-Ran HJT.

I let all the programs fix what needed to be fixed. Some of the files could not be fixed. A-squared is popping up with random .exe files for me to allow or deny. I have been denying them.

Here is my log file:

Hi jdieken -

Welcome to GeeksToGo!

I see that you've done a lot of spyware scans - good for you! I also noticed that you've only got Windows Service Pack 1 - you should get the latest Windows Service Pack 2 (better security) but let's clean your computer up first!

Note: you might want to save this reply somewhere else, like on notepad, for easy access while you are carrying out all these steps.

First, make sure that you can see hidden files and system folders. To do so, please go to My Computers > Tools > Folder Options > View Tab > Make sure "Display context of system folders" and "Show hidden files and folders" are checked.

Then, please run CWShredder again. You seem to have a CoolWebSearch infection. Maybe it will get rid of some of the things I'm seeing in the log.

Afterwards, make sure all your windows/browsers are closed. Then, run HijackThis, put a check next to all of the following items, and click "fix checked"

HijackThis might not have caught all those O15 Trusted Sites. So, please download DelDomains.inf
Right click on the link > save link/target as > then save it somewhere you can find it. Then, locate the file > right-click >select: Install (no need to restart)
Note: This will remove all entries in the "Trusted Zone" and "Ranges"

Then, please reboot into Safe Mode
To do so, start up your computer again, press the F8 button at the computer start up screen until you see a list of options. Choose Safe Mode.

Once you are logged in Safe Mode, please locate and delete the following files. (if you don't find them, it's okay)

C:\WINDOWS\kpwea.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\cmd32.exe
C:\Documents and Settings\Jeff\Application Data\rnte.exe
C:\Program Files\DeskAd Service << whole folder
C:\WINDOWS\System32\??rvices.exe ONLY delete if you find that EXACT file with the two question marks!!!
C:\Program Files\IEMenuExtension << whole folder

Afterwards, please reboot into normal mode.

Run HijackThis and post a fresh log to see if we need to do more work on this. smile.gif
