My computer is now home to an invading army of malware- trojan -spyware beasts including vx2 and cws.
I have done everything recommended in your forums including
adaware se with added tools and fixes
adwatch
spybot
spyblaster
giant microsoft beta
panda and trend online scans
cwshreddder
plvx2 cleaner
vx2 finder
tds3
all updated and run in safe mode diconnected from the net

My hijack this was working fine last night and now crashes every time i try to run it.
I used to think I was reasonably computer literate but at this rate Im joining the Amish in about 24 hours

I saw a similar problem (with the HijackThis program) happening with another user. I was told to tell that user to try to use the older version of the HijackThis (the 1.98.2 version) because some trojan shuts down the new HJT 1.99.0 version.

If you're running the 1.98.2 version and it's crashing, then someone else more qualified than I will be here shortly to help you. But if you were using the latest version, try downloading the older version and see if it works. If it does, please post a HJT log. :tazz:

The link to the older version is here.

Thanks so much Reality....its nice not to feel so alone

Ive been attacking my comp all day with an arsenal of tools and managed to get the hijack this to work in a lull in onslaughts.
Im in real strife here...sometimes my scans show over five hundred trojans and other severe security risks
After just completing scans with cwshredder adaware se and microsoft spyware beta while offline (all allowed to make fixes just minutes ago) my log is as follows

Looks like you're going to need to run this program first so we can remove the VX2 infection you have.
  • Download finditnt2000xp.zip.
  • Unzip the contents of finditnt2000xp.zip to a convenient location.
  • Navigate to the Find It NT-2K-XP folder and double-click on find.bat.
  • A command prompt will open and it will search your computer for malicious files.
  • Once it has finished a Notepad window will pop up with output.txt.
  • Copy the entire contents of output.txt into your next post.
