Make sure Windows is Showing Hidden Files

Locate and Upload--> C:\WINDOWS\system32\ddcca.dll at the site below

Once Uploaded,try this program I used last night on my test machine!

Please download WebRoot SpySweeper from HERE (It's a 2 week trial):
  • Click the Free Trial link under to "SpySweeper" to download the program.
  • Install it.
  • Once the program is installed, it will open.
  • It will prompt you to update to the latest definitions, click Yes.
  • Once the definitions are installed, click Sweep Now on the left side.
  • Click the Start button.
  • When it's done scanning, click the Next button.
  • Make sure everything has a check next to it, then click the Next button.
  • It will remove all of the items found.
  • Click Session Log in the upper right corner, copy everything in that window.
  • Click the Summary tab and click Finish.
  • Paste the contents of the session log you copied into your next reply.

Make sure you completely disable Microsoft AntiSpyware and SpySubtract!

Scan the PC in Normal Mode,SpySweeper should locate the file in the Systems memory along with several registry entries!

Clean it all,SpySweeper will prompt you to restart,do so!

Go back into Normal Mode and Scan with HijackThis again and post the results along with the Session Log from Spy Sweeper

I uploaded ddcca.dll to BleepingComputer, then downloaded Webroot, installed it and ran it (after turning everything else off.)

All I can say is WOW...it found stuff that hadn't shown up on any other scan. At the end of the scan, when I clicked the remove button, a Webroot window popped up with the message that Winlogon.exe was attempting to install a BHO. The window had a block button on it, so i clicked it. It popped up again, and I clicked block installation again. With no exaggeration, I must have blocked the installation about 75 times, but Webroot kept working, removing everything that it had found and still popping up those windows. Unfortunately, the warning window popup (and it was a constant stream of window popups) was blocking the further instructions window, but I managed to click the button to reboot.

When the comp was booting up again, I got a system screen saying that C:\WINDOW\system32\ddcca.dll had been successfully removed. YAY!!! I ran Webroot again, and got a clean scan, but when I ran HJT, it's showing something new now, and the first time I opened my browser I got a popup :tazz: But maybe this is something more controllable.

Scan by f-secure showed zero infections, but I didn't see an option to save a report.

HJT fixed those two entries, and I saved a log. Is the remaining O20 - Winlogon Notify: WRNotifier - C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\WRLogonNTF.dll something I should worry about and fix?
