I was infected by that most dreadful Winfixer adware and it was driving me crazy. I'm a geek to a point and when I saw the long process of getting rid of this Winfixer I decided to look at spware/adware detectors.
If this is a new trend in getting my computer to perform someone ELSE'S needs I can't go through that every time. So I checked out detectors that would get rid of Winfixer and any other crap that comes down the pike. Understand, I don't have much money to do much of anything and I hated to go running to purchase a program. Anyway, I did some checking around and decided to get Webroot Spy Sweeper. So for $30.00 I downloaded the software----ran a sweep----rebooted----did another sweep just to be sure----And Winfixer is GONE!! No trace. I'm optimistic that the program will continue to keep me from getting other ridiculous schemes like the people at Winfixer did. Just to let everyone know that it works.
