PC running slow because of VSMON

My PC has been running slowly recently. I have checked the Task Manager and the two processes that are using up the CPU are VSMON.EXE and SVCHOST.EXE. The offending process is really VSMON varies from 5% to 61% of CPU usage. As far as I know VSMON is a Zonelabs module but why is it using up so much of the CPU.

I have performed all the checks that you require before posting this problem, i.e. ad-adware, spybot search and destroy, ewido and have also upgraded to XP SP2.

Unfortunately I still have the problem. I am not sure whether this is a Zonelabs problem or one that you guys can help with.
