Hello I am new to the forum and am in real need of help
I got this virus sometime a couple days ago and am hardly able to do anything with my computer
I've already downloaded the vundu-fix program and just need to know which files have to go.

Any help would be very much appreciated~

Please note that you should have Administrator rights to perform the fixes. Also note that multiple identity PC’s (family PC’s) present a different problem; please tell me if your PC has more than one individual’s setting.

Before we get underway, you may wish to print these instructions for easy reference during the fix, although please be aware that many of the required URLs are hyperlinks in the red names shown on your screen. Part of the fix may require you to be in Safe Mode, which will not allow you to access the internet, or my instructions!

You have some malware and what appears to be double Vundo, so I wouldn’t bother buying lottery tickets this week, not with your luck. Let’s see what we can do with the first sweep.

I note that you are running HijackThis from Desktop; please create a new folder for it (for example C:\Program Files\Hijackthis\Hijackthis.exe) and move the programme into it. It is very important you do this before anything else since backup files can be deleted if they are not within their own folder!

NB ~ The Vundofix tool was updated yesterday, please delete the one you have already downloaded

Please download VundoFix.exe to your desktop.

• Double-click VundoFix.exe to extract the files
• This will create a VundoFix folder on your desktop.
• After the files are extracted, please reboot your computer into Safe Mode. You can do this by restarting your computer and continually tapping the F8 key until a menu appears. Use your up arrow key to highlight Safe Mode then hit enter.
• Once in safe mode open the VundoFix folder and doubleclick on KillVundo.bat
• You will first be presented with a warning.
  It should look like this

• At this point press enter one time.

It may ask you to reboot at the end, click NO.

Then, please run this online virus scan: ActiveScan

Copy the results of the ActiveScan and paste them here along with a new HiJackThis log and the vundofix.txt file from the vundofix folder into this topic.

Someone was trying to help me earlier, but gave up and stopped answering my posts for assistance. I had a vundo trojan and followed the steps to get rid of it but it seems to have only half-worked. My computer is still moving quite slowly.

Hello again

I appreciate that you are posting a fresh HJT log each time, but I am asking for other logs. I really do not know how to make it any clearer to you. Since my first post I have been asking for the logs from VundoFix and ActiveScan. Without them I have no idea if you are carrying out the fix.

My last post asked you to download, install, update and run SpySweeper. In your HJT log there is no entry for it running, and in your reply there is no mention of it, so I have no idea if you did it.

Yesterday, you made a completely new thread, exclaiming that I had stopped replying to you, when in fact all that had happened is that I went to bed. I'm probably in a different time zone and I do have to sleep. A member of staff alerted me to your new thread and I merged it back into the original. And I see you have done it again today. Presumably you are subscribed to this thread, otherwise how would you find it?

I am not going to give any further instruction to you until you provide the logs that I have continually requested and you confirm that you are carrying out the instructions correctly.

If this seems harsh, let me assure you that I am trying to help you, but in return I require your co-operation and compliance. I am in an office in the UK and I cannot guess what is happening to you, I need to know.
