My external USB-2 CD-RW (I/O MAGIC), and my internal DVD-RW (Pioneer 108) will read files but will not write files. They have previously worked well. This may have started after I installed Nero v5 or Northon Ghost on my Windows XP OS computer. However, I uninstalled them and then had to roll the computer back to pre-Ghost to get it to work.

Afterward, I installed Registry Mechanic, which seems to work without problem.

I have a P4, 600 GB; 500 MB.

I have updated (but hope not to have to uninstall and reinstall) drivers for both.

Otherwise, the computer seems to be working fine. By the way, I can backup commercial DVDs by writing them from DVD-RW -> hard drive -> blank DVD-R. I don't think the drives are dirty.
