Word opens with a frozen frame (not a document) and is immediately "not responding". It will open in safe mode occasionally following the "failed to open properly last time, etc." message, but even in safe mode it doesn't work properly.
I have been searching the Internet for this problem and have done the following already:

1. Re-Installed Word twice

2. Re-named Normal.dot a million different ways -(THE FIRST TIME I DID THIS, IT WORKED!! I COULD OPEN WORD AGAIN PROPERLY, BUT THE NEXT TIME I TRIED TO OPEN WORD IT WENT BACK TO THE ERROR AND WHEN I RENAMED NORMAL.DOT AGAIN, IT NO LONGER FIXED THE PROBLEM.)

3. Deleted all Normal.dot and template files

4. Created a new template in safe mode which didn't open again

5. Noted that Acrobat7 creates a problem..but I have version 5 for a long time and i haven't downloaded anything new.

6. Thought it might be a virus and did a million virus scans. (I was recently infected with PSGuard and thought maybe that was affecting it, but haven't seen anyone make a connection with those)

7. Got really annoyed and frustrated with all of it


Can anyone suggest any new actions to take??
