Thank you so much for all of the helpful tips in these forums, particularly the Win XP tips and tweaks. After following the two very simple instructions in tweak #6, I was saved from having to reformat my hard drive and I think we all know how tedious and time-consuming that can be. I even called my computer manufacturer's tech support, and was told that unfortunately, "you are going to have to reformat your hard drive." I put it off because I have several big projects that I am working on right now, and don't have the time or the inclination to do it.

I am *SO GLAD* I came here for help (as I had done in the past when I caught that nail.exe virus). Through a few simple steps, I was able to fix the problem on my computer. You guys are awesome!
