Hi

I had an earlier version of skype and it asked for it tp be updated.

I then updated it and so had to download the new version (I think version 1.4), so after i downloaded, I ran the file and the setup file went at the bottom. Then i clicked on it and it said it was not responding. I tried to close it, by doing ctrl alt del and click on 'end now' but when i did that it stayed in the bottom, so there was no way of me closing it.

So then, i was told that by uninstalling the older version i hav of Skype, that will probably fix the problem. So I uninstalled it and redownloaded it and the same problem occured. :)
Please can you help me with this problem..

I think it maybe a setup.exe problem because I download google earth setup file and when i double clik to run the setip it asked to be run. So I click run, the loading cursor pops up for about a second then returning to the normal arrow. Then thats the end of that, the setup file does not run or open.

Please can you help me!!!!! :woot: :woot: :woot:

Thanks guys
Ravi :tazz:

Look for entries to Google and Skype in add / remove and uninstall them then reboot the PC

Get the trial of Tune Up 2006 here

Tune Up 2006 Trial

Run disc clean up then registry clean up, then click optimize to run reg defrag, which needs a reboot

If no change

Click start, all programmes, accessories, system tools to run disc clean up, then from system tools, run disc defragmenter.

Click start then run, type sfc /scannow then press enter, you need the XP CD and get a blue progress bar, after the bar goes, reboot.

Click start then run, type chkdsk /f /r then press enter, type Y to confirm for next boot, press enter then reboot.

This will take an hour, it will appear to load normally then either the monitor will show progress or the screen will go blank, do not disturb this.

When it gets to the desktop, the system files and the hard drive will be as they should

If no change

Please go here to repair your operating system

Repair XP

If you are unable to run XP Repair

Alternate XP Repair Guide

Use the last one - Windows Installation CD to repair the current installation, which uses a slightly different method

Windows XP repair feature won't delete your data, installed programs, personal information, or settings. It just repairs the operating system

After running the repair it will be necessary to install all Windows Updates
