When I laod up my computer in NORMAL mode, the startbar + desktop is frozen. When I load it up in SAFE mode, it works for like 10 seconds, then freezes, when I try to run e: (cd for windows cd) the box is frozen and I have to restart comp. I tried to do boot from cd, no go. Help? Nothing works, I even tried system restore, it CANT restore. I can't even repair the windows.

Hello EliteNewbz...

When your machine is booting, do you hear more than one "beep"?

I don't hear a single beep. It just loads up, when it's in NORMAL, it has this "spysheriff" thing that is "searching for trojans. I think it's my harddrive, I took my old harddrive (windows 98) and I'm using it for my parents right now.

SpySheriff isn't searching for malware...it IS malware!

Please go to the Malware Forum and follow the instructions at the top....Especially the Start Here.

That will give you several steps that will help you clean up 70 percent of all problems by yourself. If at the end of the process you are still having difficulty--and you may not be-- post a hijackthis log in THAT forum.

If you are still having problems after getting a clean bill of health from the malware expert, please return to this thread.
