No picture on streaming video

OK, so I have the latest drivers and everything. And today I try to watch some video at Gamespot, and I have full sound but no picture. Curiously, the zoom context right-click menu is entirely greyed out. This is in addition to the problem I posted here.

I'm really stumped here, it appears that .mov files are working, so I'm having some kind of mega problem with .avi and .mpg files, as well as .wmv files. Please help people...
