WOW Mining and Engineering Guide

Although it is not the most popular proffesion, engineering, with the help of mining can be an excellent way to make gold and even help during combat! Any class and race can be an engineer and will equally benefit from it. With engineering, you can create different machines and gadgets that you can use both outside and in combat. Example items are different bombs, mechanical squirrel, land mines, explosive sheep etc. Most engineering items can only be used by yourself, so you will not make too much wow gold selling to other players. However, you still can sell some items, such as guns, scopes and mechanical squirrels to other players.

Starting Out...
The first thing you need to do is find an engineering trainer at one of the locationslisted below:
Ironforge: Tinker Town
Stormwind: Dwarven District
Orgimmar: Valley of Honor
Undercity: Rogues' Quarter
Training engineering is free and requires no skill points. After you have engineering trained, you need to go to a mining trainer at one of the locations listed below:
Ironforge: The Great Forge
Stormwind: Dwarven District
Orgimmar: Valley of Honor
Undercity: War Quarter
Thunder Bluff: Elevation 1
After you have minning trained, you need to buy a mining pick from a mining suplies npc, which can be found near the mining trainer. However, you do not need to equip it, you just need to keep it in your backpack.

Time to start mining!
Now that you have all the supplies and skills you need, it is time to start mining! The first thing you need to do is open your abilities book and click the 'find minerals' icon, after you have done that, there should be an icon on the top left of your radar. If there is a vein of minerals close to you, there will be a yellow circle on your map, to see what type of vein it is, drag your mouse over it. After you have found a vein, go to it and click it. There should be a bar that says mining and once it is done a loot box will appear and you can take the minerals in it. There is always one ore of whatever type of vein it is and there are sometimes other minerals that can be sold or used for certain recepies. Mining is somewhat based on luck, however, there are certain rules to follow when looking for mines... Mines are usually found in mountainous areas near monsters and quest locations.

What to do with the Ore?
We have mined some ore and now we need to smelt it into a bar so that we can use it for engineering. To smelt ore, you need to be next to a forge. Click the smelting icon in your abilities book and you will have a list of things you can smelt. Click the one that you want to make and then hit create, or create all to smelt all your ore of that type.

Engineering!
Now that we have some bars of material, we can finally start to use engineering! Go to an anvil, which are usually located near a forge or engineering trainer. Open your skills book and click the engineering icon, there will be a list of things you can make. Engineering recipes also usually require things that need to be looted of monsters or bought at the auction house. They are colored according to the guide below:
* Grey = Will not receive a skill point in Engineering when creating.
* Green = Rarely will you gain a skill point in Engineering when creating.
* Yellow = Probably gain a skill point in Engineering when creating.
* Orange = Always gain a skill point in Engineering when creating.
* Red = Not high enough level in Engineering to create.

Bigger and Better Things...
Now that we have the basics of mining and engineering, it is time to go on to bigger and better things. As your skills in mining and engineering get better, buy recipes from the trainers, however, some recipes you will need to loot of monsters or buy at the auction house. As you get better and better, you will be able to sell your creations, and even sell the things that you mine at the auction house.

Some things to remember:
Mine every vein you see!
Keep your mining skill at what types of vein are around you
Be patient!
Loot everything that you use in your recipes
Use the things you make

Good luck engineering and mining!
