[Plasma1234]

In an attempt to run an exe I thought was from legitimate source, an interesting series of events took place. After running it, web pages were not coming up. The loading bar would fill then status would read done. I use Firefox, and have an up-to-date version. Every now and then a cmd prompt will pop up, but it is blank and CPU usage notably increases. I initially tried to search C: for all exe files and simply delete the most recently modified files. I found two something called IEslow.exe and another. Symantec AnitVirus was also ran, to no avail. Apparently, like most other malware cases, the exes seem to be self-proliferating, creating new instances at start up. I have also looked in the boot list using the mscofig ultility. I did not see IEslow.exe on the list. Hijack log taken after start up included below. Any and all comments welcome. To be honest, the original exe I ran was to crack some software...I know I know.

Please go to the Malware Forum and follow the instructions at the top....Especially the Start Here.

That will give you several steps that will help you clean up 70 percent of all problems by yourself. If at the end of the process you are still having difficulty--and you may not be-- post a hijackthis log in THAT forum.

If you are still having problems after getting a clean bill of health from the malware expert, please return to this thread.
