I read a previous thread dated Jan 10, 2005 where thatman gave Shawn directions on removing www.all-websearch.com/10039/ from a hijacked homepage. My logfile is slightly different, and I don't seem to be getting the thing out of my system. It has somehow reinstalled itself again using www.search-paga.com/10039/ after I followed the directions given. What specific items do I need to check before clicking fix checked
Thanks for any help you can give me - Here is my Hijackthis log:

Hello and welcome to GeeksToGo Forums. We hope you enjoy your stay here! :tazz:

You may want to print out these instructions or save them to your desktop as a text file with Notepad because we will be restarting into Safe Mode later on in the fix and you might not be able to access the Internet.

Place a checkmark next to these entries, close all browsers and windows, and have HijackThis fix them by clicking Fix Checked:

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings,ProxyServer = http=localhost:8080
F3 - REG:win.ini: run=C:\WINDOWS\inetdata\winlogon.exe
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {5321E378-FFAD-4999-8C62-03CA8155F0B3} - (no file)
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {DE001A19-88F4-D351-D118-871D8011409B} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\pjydyw.dll
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [xp_system] C:\WINDOWS\inetdata\winlogon.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [ANONYMIZER_SPYWAREKILLER] C:\Program Files\SpyWare Killer\spywarekiller.exe /BOOT /GUI /TRAY
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Paru] C:\Documents and Settings\Thomas E Tappan\Application Data\tcld.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [xp_system] C:\WINDOWS\inetdata\winlogon.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Jobaqsm] C:\WINDOWS\system32\w?auboot.exe
O4 - Global Startup: startup.hta
O6 - HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Control Panel present
O16 - DPF: {205FF73B-CA67-11D5-99DD-444553540000} (CInstall Class) - http://www.spywarest...es2/Install.cab
O23 - Service: WLTRYSVC - Unknown - C:\WINDOWS\System32\WLTRYSVC.EXE C:\WINDOWS\System32\bcmwltry.exe (file missing)

Reconfigure Windows XP to show hidden files:
Click Start. Open My Computer.
Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options. Select the View Tab.

Under the Hidden files and folders heading select "Show hidden files and folders".
Uncheck the "Hide protected operating system files (recommended)" option.
Uncheck the "Hide file extensions for known file types" option.
Click Yes to confirm. Click OK.

Boot into Safe Mode:
Restart your computer and immediately begin tapping the F8 key on your keyboard.
If done right a Windows Advanced Options menu will appear. Select the Safe Mode option and press Enter.
To return to normal mode just restart your computer as you normally would.

Please remove these entries from Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel(if present):

Spyware Killer

Please delete these folders using Windows Explorer(if present):

C:\Program Files\SpyWare Killer
C:\WINDOWS\inetdata

Please delete these files using Windows Explorer(if present):

C:\Documents and Settings\Thomas E Tappan\Application Data\tcld.exe

Now you can restart the computer normally.
Please run HijackThis again and post a fresh log, just so I can make sure that all the malware was deleted according to plan. ;)

This seems to have fixed most of the problems. I now can set up my homepage without hijacking. Thanks!!

Something we did, however, ate my wireless cable router connection. I will set it up again this evening or when I have time and see if one of the entries we took out will come back. I am directly on the wire router now.

I'll contact you again in about a day or so.

Sorry about that. I didn't mean to include this one. Go to HijackTHis > Config > Backups and restore that entry.

Thanks again for your help.

The pop ups and homepage hijacking are gone, and everything has worked well for almost a month now. The wireless was reset and works properly.

We're glad to hear your computer is running much better then before, if you would like to continute to maintain this great preformance there are some steps you should follow ;)

How do you prevent spyware from being installed again? We strongly recommend installing SpywareBlaster (it's free for personal use) Click Here.

Prevent the installation of ActiveX-based spyware, adware, browser hijackers, dialers, and other potentially unwanted pests.
Block spyware/tracking cookies in Internet Explorer and Mozilla/Firefox.
Restrict the actions of potentially dangerous sites in Internet Explorer.
Consumes no system resources.

1. Use ANY browser besides Internet Explorer, almost every exploit is crafted to take advantage of an IE weakness. We usually recommend FireFox Posted Image.
