Hi and Welcome,

Ok, well... first thing I guess we should find out is what Operating System you are running? Windows XP? Windows 2000? Windows 98? Next, thing to check is if can you boot to safe mode?

How to boot to safe mode
Follow the directions on that page for the Operating System you're running. :tazz:

Also, did you make any changes to the system lately? Do you get any messages when you boot up? Error codes? Anything?

Hi,

I understand you don't see anything when it turns on, but can you try and boot to safe mode, by following these directions here:

http://www.computerh...s/chsafe.htm#02
How to boot to safe mode with Windows XP.

Try that, see if anything comes up on the screen. :tazz:

Can you hear the hard drive spinning at all? Do you have a Windows XP disk? We might have to try and boot to it and go into the recovery console.

If you can't hear the hard drive spinning that's not really the best sign. I would assume the laptop is still under warranty?

Well, that's not good at all. Like I asked is the laptop still under warranty? Chances are you're going to have to get it replaced so it seems. If you don't hear the hard drive spinning and the cd drive won't open that's not really something that can be fixed as far as I know without replacing it. Which is why I would hope it's under warranty, it should be if it's only 3 months old. Sorry about that.

Also thought I would add, if you can't boot to safe mode and the screen is black you may have a video card issue, which on a laptop is probably on the motherboard which means you would have to replace the motherboard of the laptop. If that isn't it, then the monitor is dead and thats not easy to replace either. :tazz:
