Booting in safe mode

If you can boot in normal mode
Click start then run, type sfc /scannow then press enter to replace the system files, you need the XP CD and get a blue progress bar, reboot when the bar goes
When it gets to the desktop, you can run the PC then reboot and keep tapping F8 to choose safe mode

Thanks for the tip. I was doing it incorrectly. Problem is now resolved. THANKS AGAIN!!
