windows media will not work

[size=7]I cannot get my windows media to work. At first it was just the dvd player, then listening to song samples on bestbuy.com and now it won't even open. It says "windows media player an internal application error has occured. can anyone help me????

Let's start with a simple solution and see if it works. Download the latest Windows Media player and install it. Even if you have the latest, reinstall it.

Also, what anti-virus programs do you use? What about Anti-spyware programs?

Yep! I can play from my music library now but the dvd player that once existed won't work. It says "Windows media player cannot play the dvd because a compatible dvd decoder is not installed on your computer" Do you know which I should install and is there one for free?


P.S. Thanks for the help. Gosh I feel dumb but ..well, i am pretty dumb when it comes to this machine ..what's it called ..a computer...yeah thats it! So thanks!!!!
