Can someone tell me how to change which programs open when you start up Windows XP? When ever I turn on my computer it takes forever to get started and there is 12 different programs in the system tray. :tazz:

Easiest way of doing this: [Start Menu > Run > Type "msconfig" (no quotes) > Enter]

In the tabs, hit startup. Uncheck the programs that you do NOT want running on startup. Make sure you do not uncheck any critical components.

Click okay, then hit restart. Let the PC reboot and it should only boot and run the processes you left checked.

Be very careful using msconfig - there are programs in there that are required by the OS and preventing them from loading will likely cause more problems
