Hello,
Recently, Mcafee indicates I have Spyware or Adware however the antivirus program is unable to remove it.

The message reads:

The file C:\WINDOWS\system32\pmkji.dll is a potentially unwanted program (such as spyware and adware) and has been blocked from running on your computer.

I tried to use Mcafee to remove but no luck. Computer appears sluggish. Windows XP Media Center.

Please help!

• Delete Cookies

1) Please download the Killbox.
Unzip it to the desktop but do NOT run it yet.

2) Then please reboot into Safe Mode by restarting your computer and pressing F8 as your computer is booting up. Then select the Safe Mode option.

3) Once in Safe Mode, please run Killbox.

4) Select "Delete on Reboot".

5) Open the text file with these instructions in it, and copy the file names below to the clipboard by highlighting them and pressing Control-C:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\mllml.dll

6) Return to Killbox, go to the File menu, and choose "Paste from Clipboard".

7) Click the red-and-white "Delete File" button. Click "Yes" at the Delete on Reboot prompt. Click "No" at the Pending Operations prompt.

If you receive a message such as: "Component 'MsComCtl.ocx' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid." when trying to run TheKillbox, click here to download and run missingfilesetup.exe. Then try TheKillbox again..

Let the system reboot.

Ok, I ran the program and I assume I should post another HiJack this log?
Also, I never had a "Pending Operations Prompt" while using the Killbox program. But, it seemed to delete the file and it rebooted.
No, I do not use AOL. I just bought this laptop and of course AOL is pre-loaded and it seems to be everywhere.

I didn't think you did, your log didn't show any other signs of it, but had to be sure.

Please go to Start > Run

Type sc stop AOL ACS and hit enter

Type sc delete AOL ACS and hit enter

Then please delete C:\Program Files\Common Files\AOL\ACS\AOLacsd.exe

If you get an error the file is in use, please boot into safe mode and remove it there.
