I tried both of your fixes, but did'nt help.
Don't know what happened in sfc /scannow. It scanned but did not give me info
as to what went on. I assume it finished 'cause I got a window back.
2nd suggestion located the ie.inf, and when I clicked on "install" it asked for
"iexplore.exe for SP 1 on CD.
Don't have the CD. PC came with everything installed.
My problem started after I tried to download a DVD Decoder software from a
supposedly safe site, my virus program (AVG 7) picked up a virus and I moved
it to virus vault, and tried to start over. Now I get a "cannot find server" on every
site, and nothing will load.
Help please.
I'm a newbie, and this is my 1st post.

Was able to fix it myself, using many posts by others.
Thanks to you all.
