Hi Tampabelle....At least the machine is staying in the standby mode, which is great, I hated the "grunt" noise each time it kept waking up. I'm glad U think I am doing good, but I think I messed up on the Panda thing. I clicked on Scan now, instead of the one time scan in the upper right corner, so they wanted my email and state. I saw something downloading, hope it isn't going to be something else I have to find and get rid of...AARGGGG. It is tuff being a computer dummy. 4 friends of mine, and my hubby just registered on geeks, as they were so impressed with all the help I was getting.

If and when this puter is free of junk, U might have to guide me into how to remove all the stuff that I down;oaded, and could U suggest a darn good spy catcher site, man I have Nortons, a firewall, Microsoft auto updates with service pk. 2 I clean my cookies and cache each nite, run my updates at 7 p.m. each nite and a full scan each sunday morning, and I still get something like this, very frustrating.

I really can't express how pleased I have been with your help, if it wasn't for this site, I know I would have tossed this sucker right out a window by now..... Will do what U asked and post the log, and hope to God we are finally thru. Sure hope U haven't gotten any gray hairs trying to deal with me. CYL....

OK, I think I messed up. I ran the Hijack, but clicked on scan and save log. I found the item U said to check off and a box came up and told me it was removing it. After that, the screen in the Hijack box went blank so I saw nowhere to delete the C:\WINDOWS\system32\gebcb.dll Here is the log, yet it still has the thing I checked off to be fixed still in it, yet if I run Hijack again, I don't see it??? Oh well, so much for me doing so good......

I ran Panda again, and it came back exactly the same. 2 found Spyware, and this was the info I found:

I see the Panda thing on there, is that going to conflict with Nortons? When I first ran it like I said, it was dumping stuff into a folder, wanted my email addy and state that I lived in. Never ran panda before, so didn't want something on my computer that doesn't belong there, as I don't wish to subscribe to Panda.

Have no idea why the second Hijack log is different then the one I posted a lil earlier, as I didn't delete anything. Oh well, I think we are making progress, so for now I'll let U, the expert figure it out.......

Hi Tampabelle...I know the site has been down since last nite and U guys must be up to your eyeballs trying to get caught up. Just wanted to let U know, I ran my Nortons one button check last night and it found 1 error in registry, but fixed it. Did a total Norton scan this a.m. and it came back fine, and so far the computer has been acting pretty good.

It is still staying in the standby mode, THANK GOD, I'm not getting those stupid Winfix popups that kept wanting to dump things on me and want me to run their checkup, and also not getting that Modzilla popup that kept displaying all my computer info. and saying it sent it??? Have no idea what that was all about, but wrap on wood, things have been pretty ok. Didn't want to run another Hijack till I heard from you, but like I said, all in all, things have really quieted down.

Hope the site has finally found it's cure and things are getting back to normal. Have a good one, and will wait to hear from you before I do anything. Just wanted to keep you up to date and also let U know, things are running much better then 2 days ago.

Hi, am I finished here or what, haven't heard from anyone in a few days? If my last log looks ok, do I delete the tools I used, and if so, need help with removal. I downloaded Hijack this and the Vundo thing, so I have Hijack in C drive, which I believe I can take out with add/remove, but not sure of the Vundo fix thing.
