Error on start up saying RUNDLL error of NEWDOT.DLL

hi
when ever i start up my laptop i get this error. stating that module of something on C drive including file ending of something to do with NEWDOT.DLL...
since this laptop has no access to internet at all. i have tried recovery but still no joy.
can someone please help me....
most appreciate the help.

Hi and welcome to Geeks to Go. I suggest running the system file checker. You will need to have your windows install cd in the cd drive. Then go to start, run and type sfc /scannow
Note the space between sfc and the slash, that is they way to do it.

I seem to recall that newdot is malware. You might want to check for it on google.

Howdy and welcome to G2G:

Newdot is indeed malware so running sfc /scannow really won;t do anything for you in this case..

Go to This Thread (<-- Click Here) and follow the instructions given there..

Once you have finished, post a copy of your HiJackThis log in the Malware Forum (Link underlined in my signature) and let the guru's there have a go at it!!

hi many thanks for link. using winsock i have repaired the problem. but only now i have just a trojan virus left.. but this not removing from my system as it doesnt let u erase the relevant files it has infected....
many thanks for solution to first problem but now i am stuck with second problem...
