Keep getting the blue screen of death and it wont allow me to go into safe mode or any thing because it keeps restarting. I get an error at the beginning where it checks everything and says its running in fail-safe mode. Anyone help?

could you give the exact message from the blue screen.

also..the image in your signature is too large...it's about 23 kilobytes, you need to make it smaller...the forum rules limit the size of your avatar and signature combined to 16Kb

I would love to give you the message but it restarts right after it gives it to me.

Did you just make the rule? Ive had it for awhile now and no one has bothered to say anything.

nope...didn't make the rule....pretty much always been a rule...someone just may not have noticed...i did notice...so i mentioned it..you're not in trouble....just make the image file smaller...

check your system temps and post them here

also...try reseting the bios to defaults and see what happens

are there any odd beeps or anything during post?

turn the machine off...unplug it from the wall...ground yourself on something metal...open the case and take the CMOS battery off (should be the only battery on the motherboard...its about the size of a quarter)..hold in the power button for 10 seconds...reverse the process..

No no beeps, my post code is stuck at FF when its loading windows and when it gets stopped at the post screen its at 7F.
Do you know where to check what these mean if I cannot find my manual?

Nothing in the post codes that would suggest anything. Ill try the cmos battery and get back to you.

So take it out, boot it, turn off, put it back in, boot it and report back?

edit: my sound card is in the way of it so ill have to take it out.

take it out...and press the power button with the machine still unplugged...don't plug it back in till you get the battery back in and the case closed.

Ok i did it and am rebooting now. It said Checksum error- defaults loaded. and its loading windows right now.

Well im not sure if i got a blue screen but my screen did go black and i think i hear a small beep but I beleive windows did not fully start but i dont think it restarted. Ill be back in 30 mins.

Well now I tryand reboot and my monitor wont show anything.
