please help with these annoying popups

when i run ad ware i it says that theres a major risk in C:/windows/system32/m?config.exe.
please help.

Launch Notepad (start -> run -> "notepad"), and copy/paste the box below into a new text file. Select "all files" in the "save as type" field. Save it as FindFile.bat and save it on your Desktop.

notepad files.txt

Locate FindFile.bat on your Desktop and double-click on it. It will open Notepad with some text in it. Please post the text here in a reply to this post.

Restart your computer and post a new HijackThis log, and the log from the FindFile.bat application.

Dear sillychick161, :tazz:

I was looking for the file for the HijackThis application. I could not find the "HijackThis.exe" file, do you know the location/directory path of this file.

Since HijackThis makes backups of any entries you fix, you should create a folder just to hold the HijackThis program and its backups, so the backups and the program are not accidentally deleted. Go to "My Computer", click on c:\ and then go to the "File" menu, choose New -> Folder. Name the folder "HJT" or "HijackThis" and then please move the "HijackThis.exe" executable there.

(Note: If you have somehow manipulated this file in any way (i.e. compressed it), don't.)

I would like to see this "Hijackthis.exe" file in your HijackThis log in your next post to me. :)
