My Dell Latitude Laptop is going crazy!!!

The screen is going mental, flashing with lines going straight across. This happens particuarly when there is colour on the screen, at this very moment, the white part of the screen is fine, however where there is colour the lines are continuously flashing. I am running a virus check but nothing has been found as yet. This has been happening since friday afternoon and as far as i am aware the laptop hasn't been dropped or slammed shut or anything (my housemates occasionally use the laptop too).

can anyone help me with this?

If you can, plug it into a conventional monitor to see if the problem continues.
If the problem continues on the normal monitor, we could be looking at a driver error.
If the problem goes away on the normal monitor but returns when the laptop screen is used again, then, well, that's not good basically.

Blocky...

You might try updating your Video Drivers from the Dell website.
