I had Trojan Lowzones on my PC and removed it. As a precaution I ran Trend Micro as well as Norton and discovered the Trojan_Small.AGP. I can't find any help on how to remove it. I did a search on Symantec site but it did not come up with anything.

Incidentally, does anyone know how to switch off the Norton notification as according to the Norton scan the I no longer have the lowzones trojan on my PC but still insists on sending me a notification

Many thanks
Sumita

Hi Rawe

Thanks so much. I have finally managed to get the log file (I'm not the most technically able of people!). Hope this makes more sense to you than it does to me..........

Hello!

First, download LSPfix.exe to a convenient location. Do NOT run this program. This is only to be used if you lose Internet Access after removing NewDotNet.

To Get rid of NewDotNet, go to:

Start > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs and remove the following:

New.Net Applications or New.Net Domains (anything that says New.Net)

If it is not there, go here and follow Procedure 4; NewDotNet Removal Procedure 4.

After the uninstall.. Delete this folder: C:\Program Files\NewDotNet (Or New.Net)

In the event that you lose Internet access after removing New.Net, please double-click LSPFix.exe that you downloaded earlier. You will see 2 panels. If there is any file listed in the "Remove" panel on the right-side, leave it as is and just click "Finish>>" then reboot your computer and you should now have access to the Internet. If nothing is listed under the "Remove Panel", do NOT do anything - just close the program. You will need to use another computer to come back here for further instructions on what to do.

Then post me a fresh HijackThis log once done.

Hi Rawe

I have uninstalled Newdot.net and everything seemed to go okay. I can connect to the internet but am still experiencing problems. For instance I can get to the homepage of geeks to go, but can't access the forum (sending this very quickly from work) I still also seem to have files infected with the trojan. Below are a few screen shots (attached) and the log file.......would really appreciate some more help. Many thanks for the help you've already given......

Hi again!

Please download cureit;
ftp://ftp.drweb.com/pub/drweb/cureit/drweb-cureit.exe

Run drweb - cureit
Double-click the "drweb-cureit.exe" and click "ok" in the prompt window that will open, asking "start the express scan now".
It will first make a quick scan of your system, let it clean what it finds, and when it says "done" in the lower left corner click on all your drive's.
A red dot will mark the selected drive(s) . Then hit the pedestrian who now has turned green.
Click on the green man in the right corner, it will scan ALL your drive's, hit yes to all.

Reboot.

Post a fresh HiJackThis log once finished.

Hi Rawe

I ran the drweb- cureit and it took out a lot of viruses. The problem is I still seem to be having problems with the internet. It is connecting to the homepage alright but not to further pages in some websites. For instance, I can connect to 'geekstogo' homepage, but can't access the forum or hijack this etc. I just get a lot of what looks like code, or I get redirected to a page I don't want to go to.....

Also, I tried to make an online payment yesterday and that didn't work either.

Hijack This log below

Thanks so much for all your help to-date

Please download the l2mfix from one of the locations below;

http://www.atribune....oads/l2mfix.exe

http://www.downloads....org/l2mfix.exe

Save the file to your desktop and double-click l2mfix.exe

Click the Install - button to extract the files and follow the prompts, then open the newly added l2mfix folder on your desktop.

Double click l2mfix.bat and select option #1 for Run Find Log by typing 1 and then pressing enter. This will scan your computer and it may appear nothing is happening, then, after a minute or 2, notepad will open with a log.

Copy the contents of that log and paste it into your next reply.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run option #2 OR any other files in the l2mfix folder until I ask you to!

Note; if you recieve any error messages for CMD or Autoexec.bat>> select option 5 from the l2mfix and once at the site, click on the link that apply to your operating system!

Double-click the file it downloads and extract the files to its predetermined System32 folder!

Please do an online virus scan with Panda ActiveScan Here. You need to use Internet Explorer for this scan.
  • Once you get to the Panda site, scroll down a bit and click on Scan your PC
  • A new window will appear; click on Check Now!
  • A new window will appear; fill in the boxes (Country, State, email addy)
  • Click on Scan Now! >
If you have never used ActiveScan before, you will be prompted to install an ActiveX control (asinst.cab) : click on Install. Panda will install the component, and then install the latest signature files.
  • From "Select a device to scan...", choose "My Computer"
  • Allow the scan to run. It'll take a while.
  • When complete, click on "See Report", and then on "Save report"; save it to a convenient location.
  • I will need you to post that report in your next reply; simply open the text file, then copy/paste the content here.

Next..

Run the CleanUp program:

*IMPORTANT NOTE*
CleanUp deletes EVERYTHING out of your temp/temporary folders, it does not make backups.
If you have any documents or programs that are saved in any Temporary Folders, please make a backup of these before running CleanUp

Running CleanUp
  • Start CleanUp by double-clicking the icon on your desktop (or from the Start > All Programs menu).
  • When CleanUp starts go to the Options button (right side of CleanUp screen)
  • Move the arrow down to "Custom CleanUp!"
  • Now place a checkmark next to the following (Make sure nothing else is checked!):
    • Delete Cookies
This is optional, if you leave the box checked it will remove all of your cookies, at this point removing cookies is a good idea
    • Empty Recycle Bins
    • Delete Prefetch files
    • Cleanup! All Users
  • Click OK
  • Then click on the CleanUp button. This will take a short while, let it do its thing.
  • When asked to reboot system select No
  • Close CleanUp
Then post a fresh HijackThis log. :tazz:
