I was working on a Windows ME machine and installed a driver for a printer. The machine went to reboot then said "Error writing to drive c:" (in the blue screen of death) then I restarted the computer and windows says "Windows Protection Error Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart your computer" I tried restarting in Safe Mode but that won't work because it reboots on its own just before the desktop displays its icons. I have a feeling it is the hard drive but I can't be certain. Upon restart it said an error about vxd drivers (once) I need to get to the MSDOS prompt but I have no startup disks for this machine. I can't get the option for the command prompt on the Windows ME Startup menu. What should I do? Any web sites have downloadable startup disks for ME? Any suggestions? Thanks for any guidance...I miss MS DOS - why did microsoft dodge it? lol

Hi ffdave...Welcome to G2G!

This is your Windows ME Bootdisk. Download the file to your desktop, double-click the downloaded file, and insert a floppy in the drive when prompted to do so. This will create the bootdisk for the ME machine.
