Hi, can anyone help me. I'm having trouble installing the sims 2. I get an error message saying that my computer cannot install a file TSData/Res/Sound/Voice 1.package
Does anyone know how to skip this file in installation? or any other ideas.
Thanks.

You dont' skip it, it's a key file.

This message is telling you that either you disc is faulty, your unit is faulty or there's something else wrong.

Hello fallendeatheater and welcome to Geeks to go!

First of all is the disk/disks clean or scratched?
Have you tried installing it on a different CD/DVD drive?
Have you tried renaming the InstallShield folder?
Have you tried copying the CDs/DVD to the hard drive and running setup from there?

This problem can also be caused by overzealous virus scanners.

I've heard of the "Protection against unknown threats" option in Panda AntiVirus causing Sims 2 patches to not install.

Yes, I've experienced this, though its sorted by turning off the Resident Protection while the game patches itself.

Thanks to everyone for the ideas. I have tried most of them, but I didn't know about the problems caused with antivirus programs. I'll retry and see what happens.
