Last week I added this computer to the office network so it could use the printer. The only software running is a weather radar application - called weather sentry - fed from a satellite. Since it was being plugged into the router, I upgraded the RAM to 384MB (from 128MB), loaded ZoneAlarm, Adaware, Spybot, and AVG. Once it had a connection to the internet, windows updates went to work and spent a day updating itself. Since all this was done, weather sentry has been keeping the CPU at 90% or higher and the radar loops are real choppy. Before upgrading, it was smooth with very few problems related only to the small amount of memory originally on the computer.

If I keep weather sentry minimized, CPU usage is very low. When I maximize the window, CPU usage jumps to 90% and above.

Any ides on why this would have happened after upgrading and updating?
