I keep on getting a pop-up security alert from Symantec. It says:
(symantec logo)
Your Computer is at risk in the following areas:
- Virus Protection Turned Off

open your norton product to resolve these issues.
Then there is a check box to check which says next to it "to prevent duplicate security alerts, use my existing norton product alerts and turn off redundant windows security alerts." (recommended)

I checked and auto-protect is indeed off and I cannot turn it back on. Norton, spybot, spysweeper all do not find anything. I need help because I cannot go on with disabled auto-protect. By the way I have Norton Antivirus professional 2004, and I am running XP sp2. Please Help.

Thanks

Well I'm glad I am not the only one having this problem. I haven't had the time to dig into this one but I am having the same problem. The only difference is that my Auto-Protect says its on and I still get that message...

Have you tried talking to Symantec or looking for a solution on the website?
