Best performance benchmark is actual in game performance, fraps can tell you your fps.

if you dont have any high end games, that you can crank up the settings, and see what framerate you get, Futuremark makes some software pcmark and 3dmark. there is a free limited version and a pay-for version of each. they run, and then give your computer a score as well as showing the detailed specs. there is a 01, 03, and 05 version of each, get the newest version that will run on your system.
