Spyware Remove = Internet Loss

Hello,

After searching for a way to remove the blue screen "Spyware Infected" desktop, I came across this post on the forum.

After following the instructions to remove it. I was pleased to find that it was successful. However, after my next bootup I completely lost my internet connection. I have taken steps to fix it, IE: power cycle modem, renew IP, even contacted my ISP to see if it was a problem on their end. No luck so far. Is there anything in the post to contriubte to a total loss of internet connection, that I might have missed ?
