In XP, I hit start, then My Documents and the desktop icons disappear and then return a few seconds later. I just installed Office 2003. Thanks

could you describe the issue just a little better?

what i'm getting is that if you open up my documents from t he start menu....your desktop basically goes blank..but returns in a few seconds?

does this happen if you use the my documents icon on your destkop?

or when you open my computer?

or when you press the windows key on your keybard and the letter 3 at the same time?
