Hi, just registered here as a result of doing a google search for how to get rid of Winfixer, as it has started showing up on my wife's computer. She said it started right after she installed an OEM version of Norton Antivirus 2005 we got off Ebay. It was new and still sealed, but it was an OEM version, and had some japanese writing on the disc that wasn't on the one I bought earlier this year. Anyway, I'm thinking this is just coincidental, but who knows. It's on her computer, and it's pain, so any help in telling me the easiest and most painless way to get rids of this appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Hello. :tazz: An OEM version isn't exactly legal to be buying through ebay. YOu'd be much better off uninstalling it. Then, you can download and use a FREE antivirus. AVG is an excellent free anti virus. Many of the Staff members here use it.

Until you stop using the illegal OEM version, we cannot help you here.
