The problem is that when I click the C Drive in My computer, instead of showing the files in C drive, search companion show up, and it happen to all my Drive, it was not like that before, it happen recently, please help me, I think the problem is that when I right click on the C Drive the "Open" is not on the top, before this happen the "open" in on the top, but now for some reason the "Search" is on the top. This is very annoying because now every time I have to right click and select " Open" in order to view the content of each Drive.

navigate to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shell key, then look in the right pane...

The only entry should be DeFAULT, with a type of REG-SZ and a DATA of NONE.....

if there is more than that one, delete it....if the only one there has a different DATA value, double click it and replace what is there with NONE

I did not do anything because the shell is the same as you said

right click the word DIRECTORY in the left pane, choose EXPORT, save the file to your desktop as TEMP.TXT

close regedit

OPEN it in NOTEPAD and post the results.

hm, looks right,

Open MY COMPUTER, or any folder

go to TOOLS > FOLDER OPTIONS, FILE TYPES tab, go to FOLDER and click on ADVANCED...what is in the box?
