I have a problem with my laptop. I'm running on a dell and using Windows XP. My laptop is an inspiron 2200. Anyway, my problem is that whenever I press the home key, it acts as both home AND delete, and my End causes browers to go fullpage so I would assume it is acting as both End and F11. My page down and page up are both fine as far as I can tell. When I press my up key, however, it makes it go up and right, and my down key is the opposite. I tried restarting my computer and I'm not too sure what's wrong with it...

No... that didn't work. x.x I tried bashing on all my keys for a few minutes, heh. That just got me with a bunch of help files appearing. Stupid F1

well if you are the type to bash, you could be having a keyboard failure.

Try using an external keyboard...does the problem recur.

Do you have any macro keyboard functions (run a program with key combinations).

Heh, no, I don't usually bash the keyboard. Sometimes one or two of my keys lock up so I sweep my hand over them. My laptop only has USB ports and I don't have any Keyboards with USB plugs so I'm stuck for now.

Uh... what do you mean by marco? Control Home and Control End works fine. Along with all the other directions + control. Same with Shift.

there are programs that will intercept keystrokes and convert them into actions--that is a MACRO

Heh, yeah, that's what I was thinking like Macros in Excel. Too bad I don't know any Macros that use the end button.

I see nothing that explains the bizarre keyboard behavior. You can try to delete the keyboard in device manager and then rebooting.

As for the sound...in device manager, is there a yellow ! next to the sound device?

Hm... maybe I'll uninstall and reinstall the sound. ><! Now the delete key is doing home and delete. As well as all the other combos.

EDIT: Wooo! It just magically went away! My sound still isn't working though... x.x
