I have been using Norton Antivirus and am up for subscription renewal. I have heard from many people that trying some of the free Antivirus applications I see online might be worthwhile. Which ones would you recommend.

I second Avast i have been very imressed by it, it has on access protection so it protects you from attacks in realtimes as well as having an excellent scanner(better than nortons, mind you that not hard). And it is very professional looking more so than Norton.

You can also consider Computer Associate's eTrust, they have a 12-month trial...
I've not used Avast yet but it sounds good.
