I'm new to the computer fixing thing, I usually let my brother fix it but I would really like to do it myself, some help would be great though.

I have been going on a public website and every so often when I open an window from it a ad comes up and I think it adds a spyware to my computer. I ran Adware Personal SE and it comes up with an ad or tracker after I go to the website. Is there a way to stop the ads from coming up? I use Foxfire 1.0.7 but the popup stopper only stops some not all of the ads. If there was a program that was free and not damaging to my computer (like secretly installing spyware as I install it to stop ads) I would really apperciate it if someone told me.

Upgrade to Firefox 1.5 which features revisions to the pop-up blocker.
