hi I'm having a similar probelm to burnthrodeo. I've run adaware, spybotS&D cswshreddernortan antivirus and I manage to delete the registry keys one time and reset my homepage but the second time I open it up it goes back to the about: blank and with a page saying downloading popup from onemoresearch.net. My hijackthis log is similar but I'm not very adept at distinguishing between what I should have checked and fixed and what I shouldn't. If you could please help me out I would greatly appreciate it. Here is my hijack this log...

You Have a CoolWebSearch Infection.
Please Download CoolWebShredder, from http://www.geekstogo...=download&id=17 , Extract it & run the program. Click the Next Button & let it scan. Make sure you let it fix all CWS Remnants. Afterwards, Please Post a fresh Hijack This log.

I also strongly reccomend you updating to Service Pack 2 for Windows XP if possible. By going to http://www.microsoft.com and searching for Windows XP, sorry for not having the direct link.

Hi there,
Please set your system to show all files; see here for how to do this if you're unsure.

The following are mandatory fixes:
Press Control-Alt-Del to enter the Task Manager.
Click on the Processes tab and end the following processes:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\nthv32.exe

Exit the Task Manager when finished

Close all programs down, leaving only HijackThis running.
Place a check against the following items:

R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Page_URL = about:blank
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchURL,(Default) = http://klounada.com/index.htm
R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing
O16 - DPF: {E7DBFB6C-113A-47CF-B278-F5C6AF4DE1BD} - http://download.abac...abasetup152.cab

Click on Fix Checked and exit HijackThis.

Reboot into Safe Mode: see here if you don't know how to do this.

Using Windows Explorer, locate the following files/folders, and delete them:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\nthv32.exe

Exit Explorer, and reboot as normal afterwards.

Post back a fresh HijackThis log and we'll take another look.
