i recently installed windows xp on my friends os. unfortunately a blue screen showed up saying dumping physical memory. i then took his hard disk to my house and installed windows 98 and then windows xp(on two differnent partitions). checked it and it was running fine (both of them). when he put the hard disk in the computer the same blue screen is coming on his computer and for windows 98 it isn't showoing his cd rom drives. please help me. i need to help him

Howdy:

First of all, you can't install XP on one harddrive, take that hdd out on one system and put it in another and expect it to work.. Just isn't going to happen..

Either you install XP on the system that it will be used in or you boot with the XP cd and run the repair option after you move the hdd back to the proper system..

Either which way, you are basically installing XP all over again so you might as well do it right the first time!!
