Isn't it funny how you go to college for computers, but once you get a job you feel really stupid and realize you got in over your head. I just got a job as a system manager even though I'm a programmer. I have a cpu that runs back-ups and it wasn't finding the host this morning. Last time it was the NIC that wasn't seated all the way. When I went to check that the cpu started shutting down. I would boot it and about 5 minutes later it would shut down while I was trying to log in. Wouldn't that be something wrong with the power supply?

It never reboots. I turn the computer on. When it says login I log in and sometimes it shuts down right then and there and sometimes it takes a little longer. I power just totally turns off.

First I'd check to be the CPU fan is operating (if there is one). If so, then go ahead and try another power supply. <_<
